The "Me" Bag

Equipment:

  • Old magazines
  • Scissors,
  • Glue,
  • Paper,
  • Bags (one per person).
Method
  1. Each person is given a paper bag.
  2. Look through magazines and cut out pictures that show the YOU that everyone else sees.
    1. Stick those pictures on the outside of your paper bag.
  3. Cut out pictures that show the you that you know - your feelings, ambitions, hopes, etc.
    1. Place these pictures inside your paper bag.
  4. In pairs or threes, tell each other about your bags - you choose whether or not you'd like to share the pictures inside your bag.

  • Some of the things you might choose to talk about are:
    • Why did you choose the pictures on and in your bag?
    • Are the pictures on the inside of your bags similar to the ones on the utside?
      • Why?
      • Why not?
      • How?
    • Are many of our true feelings and hopes kept inside?
    • Do we show a different picture of ourselves to others?
      • Only to certain people?

table settings reflect the day

When you choose to have table napkins then you need something to hold them together. The use of glasses was really appreciated when we heeded off to the Italian Australian Club one year. The Guides felt that all their efforts were worth everything they had put into the day.

Other times the guides have either used a ready made napkin holder or they made their napkin holders, name cards and servietters.

This is the basic 2009 menu to work on.
